Blue Sky Fibers Prairie is a diaphanous, fingering weight yarn with a stunning palette of 14 colours. It is a unique fibre blend that brings together the soft halo of 53% Suri alpaca and the structure of 47% baby Hucaya alpaca. When worked on its own, Prairie creates a sheer, feather-weight fabric and when paired with another yarn it adds softness and a painterly wash of colour. Due to its sumptuous blend, Prairie is also the perfect yarn to use when substituting for lace-weight mohair, providing a luxuriously soft alternative.
The recommended needle and hook sizes range from 3.5 to 5.5 mm. Working with Prairie at different gauges will yield a variety of interesting and beautiful finished fabrics, from dense to sheer, making it a versatile option for your next project. It also works magic when held double with other yarns, and is available in an array of stunning colours.
