Both the full-size Gleener and Gleener Compact have 3 fabric-safe (and handknits-safe!) edges shave pills off without damaging the underlying fabric, while a built-in lint brush dusts away pet hair, dandruff, and the inevitable fibre fluff that gets all over you when you knit with alpaca! Keep one in your notions bag, purse, car, briefcase or desk drawer.
Gleener's patented Safe Edge System is what sets it apart from other clothes shavers. Each carefully designed edge targets a different kind of fuzz ball — from big and bulky to medium and super fine — reviving natural fibers, synthetics and blends.
- Edge #1: Ideal for big & bulky pills like those found on heavy woolens, blends and synthetics.
- Edge #2: Best for medium pilling like those found on cashmere, merino and finer wools. It also works great on polar fleece.
- Edge #3: Revitalizes your summer knits, t-shirts, silk blends and ultra delicates by removing fine pills.
Note: Although Gleeners are highly effective for most garments and upholsteries, it is not recommended for use on flannel as it wears out the edge surfaces too quickly. Athletic gear, "burnout" fabrics and ultra-thin or sheer t-shirts are also not recommended for Gleener use. Similarly, the Gleener should not be used on fabrics that contain embroidery, deliberate textures or very loose weaves such as handknits with drop-stitches or delicate lace.
