Haunui Cotton, (pronounced Hoo-noo-ee and translated as “place of the winds”) is a natural blend of cotton and a unique mixed-breed Haunui fine-micron wool solely from the Taranui family farm in New Zealand. This yarn is a single ply with a sprightly, handspun-like thick and thin quality, which lends itself to both easy and advanced stitchwork by creating its own visual texture.

All four launch patterns for Haunui Cotton (shown above) are available in Noro Magazine Issue 23, or individually along with indie designer patterns here on Ravelry.

No two Haunui sheep are exactly the same colour, but their undyed fleece fall into colour categories, then blended with cotton to create these beautiful shades with colour pops. To learn more about the story of Haunui from sheep to skein, click this link to download a detailed PDF brochure.
