South American Merino wool: mulesing is not necessary due to the climate. The sheep are from farms that range in size from 500-1000 acres, with plenty of space to graze. They are well looked after, and are safeguarded according to The Five Freedoms of Animal Welfare:
- Freedom from hunger and thirst
- Freedom from discomfort
- Freedom from pain, injury or disease
- Freedom to express most normal behaviour
- Freedom from fear and distress
Australian Merino wool: a premium is paid to purchase only Australian wool certified to be mulesing-free, and comply with high animal welfare standards.
